Søsportskort: Søsportskort er søkort i A2 format. Almindelige søkort er i A0 format. Søsportskort er således mindre end almindelige søkort og derfor også nemmere at håndtere i et mindre fartøj, men giver derfor også et dårligere overblik. Søsportskort sælges i sæt - med flere søsportskort i hvert sæt. Søsportkort leveres, afhængig af producenten, enten i plastik etuier eller med en spiral ryg. Søsportskort kan ikke erstatte almindelige søkort i erhvervsfartøjer.
Søkortrettelser: Der kommer nye ajourførte udgaver af søsportskort hvert år. Kortrettelser til almindelige søkort henviser ikke umiddelbart til søsportskort. Søsportskort kan derfor være lidt vanskeligere at holde ajour end almindelige søkort. Det er derfor ekstra vigtigt at du altid anvender den seneste udgave af et søsportskort.
"Bring Me Home Folio": Hvis du anvender digitale eller elektroniske søkort, bør du have papirkort som "back up" med ombord - og som minimum have et såkaldt "Bring Me Home Folio" af papirsøkort ombord. Et "Bring Me Home Folio" af søkort er en samling af papirsøkort, som bringer dig til nærmeste havn eller lodsstation. _____________________________________________________________________
